PayPal UK Twitter account hacked, no data breach

London, Jul 6: The e-commerce business giant PayPal has became the latest victim of high profile hacking. On Tuesday, Jul 5, hackers attacked a PayPal Twitter feed and sent tweets criticizing the payment processor.

According to media reports, the unknown hackers took control of the Twitter account for more than an hour and some of the twwets sent by hackers promoted paypalsucks.com, a site devoted to what it says is "exposing the nightmare of doing business the PayPal way."

Later PayPal regained the control and tweeted, "Sorry, the profile you are trying to view has been suspended."

PayPal spokesman said that cyber attack had not affected the company's operations or its internal computer networks.

"PayPal UK is unaffected by this and has not been breached or affected," the PayPal spokesman said to Reuters.

The new hacking popped up a day after Fox News Twitter account attacked by hacker group AntiSec. Hackers on Monday, Jul 4 intruded to Fox News Twitter account and tweeted false news on the United States President Barack Obama's assassination.
