Peculiar partial solar eclipse seen only by Pengiuns
The solar eclipse is peculiar because the centre shadow of the moon misses the earth, said Arvind Paranjpye, Inter University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics.
The solar eclipse which began at 1.23pm (IST) was supposed to end by 2.53pm.
The partial solar eclipse can be seen from the Antartica and southern latitudes, CB Devgun, Science Popularisation Association of Communicators and Educators (SPACE) president had said earlier.
According to Mr Paranjape, the event could be seen from a D shaped region in the Antarctic Ocean.
