Pakistani Singer Adnan Sami can't fly overseas
The court rejected Sami's application as he is facing a contempt proceeding filed by his estranged wife Sabah Galadari in the Bombay High Court (HC). Now, Sami has to file appeal in the Bombay HC to travel overseas.
Opposing Sami's application, the public prosecutor told the court that it would be difficult to get Sami back to India as he is a Pakistani citizen. The public prosecutor Mohan Sawant also argued that earlier when Sami was allowed to travel to Dubai, he travelled to Canada, which was a breach of permission.
Although Sami had stated that he had to travel abroad to earn his livelihood and there was no chance of absconding as his apartment had been confiscated, the court, which approved his few requests to fly overseas earlier, turned down the application this time.
