Bhojpuri movies have a new producer in MNS party

Mumbai, April 21: Now this is something that should expose the double-faced nature of most Indian politicians. Maharashtra NavNirman Sena (MNS), the regional party in Maharastra is well-known for its deep-hatred against the north-Indians, but what if a party leader's wife decides to produce Bhojpuri films? Will she suffer the same fate as many poor north-Indians in Mumbai, or will MNS concede that their actions are a brazen measure to get into power.

According to a report published by Mid-Day, Nanda Baviskar nee Shelar, wife of the vice-president of MNS Chitrapat Kamachari Sena, Satish Baviskar, is producing the Bhojpuri movie, 'Tridev'.

The report also states the conviction of the MNS leader as saying that there is nothing wrong in doing it and that his wife is teaching entrepreneurship to the Marathi manoos.

He was quoted as saying, "What is wrong in producing a Bhojpuri film, when a Dubey, Chaubey or a Mishra can make Marathi films and mint money? Why can't a Marathi man produce a Bhojpuri film, make profits and bring them to the state? The difference here is the North Indians make money here and send it to their home states, while Marathi manoos can make money from there and bring it to the state."

"I have even written a letter to senior party leaders telling them to encourage Marathi manoos to produce Bhojpuri films to earn money and bring it to the state. I explained to them that just the way North Indians take money away from here, we can earn profits from them. I have also informed them that my wife is producing a film" he added.

Baviskar, himself a film-producer since 1997 has been a part of the making of another Bhojpuri film, 'Devar Bhabhi', said the tabloid.

It may be worth recollecting that in July 2008, nearly 10 MNS cadres had stormed Deepak Talkies in Lower Parel where a Bhojpuri film, 'Banke Bihari MLA', was being screened. They protested against the screening of a Bhojpuri film and warned the manager against showing Bhojpuri movies, said the report.

That apart, the MNS has always blamed the north-Indian people of snatching Jobs meant for Marathi manoos, ascribing them for all the ills of Maharastra including malaria, accuse them of depleting resources, and beat them up, burn buses and ransack theatres for them.
