New Delhi
New Delhi, Mar 24: The Jat continues their indomitable protest against the government and soon it will enter the third week of agitation. Citing the irresistible row and the miseries that the national capital may experience in recent future, the Supreme Court started taking precautions.

Government officials feared that the Jat agitation, which has threatened to disrupt all communication with New Delhi, soon may posed as a major threat to the capital. The Supreme Court asked the state governments of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to ensure that normal lives in Delhi will not be tampered over the agitation.

The court also feared for the supply of essential commodities to the capital as the protesters threatened to all highways and rail-tracks connecting Delhi. Government sources informed that more than thousand trains have been cancelled and more than 400 trains have been diverted as the Jats blocked main rail-tracks mainly in Haryana.

With the disruption in the supply of coal, the Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Plant, Khedar, Hisar has been closed. Meanwhile, a Jat protester 62-year-old Vijay Singh died at the railway track. Vijay Singh was observing fast from Mar 14.

The Jats want jobs in the government to be set aside for them under an Other Backward Class (OBC) quota.
