Google Chrome 11 beta with HTML5 speech input API released
Google released the new Chrome icon, but this time it's 2D, and the new beta version includes support for the HTML5 speech input API. The new Chrome 11.0.696.16 to the Beta channel is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Google said that with the HTML5 speech input API, developers can give web apps the ability to transcribe their voice to text. Using this feature, users can speak to their computers through microphones and recorded audio is sent to speech servers for transcription, after which the text is typed out for the user.
