Google unleashes Smart Labels feature for Gmail
The new Gmail Smart Labels feature will help the users to classify and organize the mails in their Gmail account. The Smart Labels automatically categorizes incoming Bulk, Notification and Forum messages, and labels them as such. The Gmail users, who are using filters and labels to organize their mails, can replace the existing filters with Smart Labels.
Earlier in 2010, Google released Priority Inbox feature, which separates the new e-mails as 'Important and unread' on the top, 'starred', which have been previously stamped with a star and 'everything else' at the bottom, which contains rest of unarchived inbox.
"Smart Labels play nice with other labels and filters too. On the Filters tab under Settings, you'll find that these filters can be edited just like any others. From there, you can also edit your existing filters to avoid having them Smart Labeled or change whether mail in a Smart Label skips your inbox," Google said in Gmail blog.
