California, Feb 20: Just like the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2011) in Jan, the recently ended Mobile World Congress (MWC 2011) in Barcelona promised the bright future of tablet PCs. Various manufactures showcased more than ten new tablets, mostly running on Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS, in the gadget show. So, guys what will be the future of Apple iPad?

Since its launch, Apple iPad dominates the tablet market with more than 70 per cent share. It's obivious that iPad never met ant serious competitors till the launch of Samsung Galaxy Tab. Samsung's tablet launched as an iPad-Killer with many advanced features like camera, Android OS, Flash support etc, which are unavailable on iPad. Samsung Galaxy Tab succeeded in grabbing some shares from iPad, but not that much.

The launch of Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS made the scene more interesting. Google announced that Honeycomb version was exclusively made for tablets and will provide great user experience and 3D features. And more over, Motorola announced the Xoom tablet running on Honeycomb. That was the turning point!

The Motorola Xoom tablet offered advanced features than any other tablets in the market. Many of us even felt like Xoom will put an end to iPad reign. It has to be proved yet. Xoom will hit the markets soon and also many others also joined the Honeycomb wandbagon. So, iPad will get more foes.

MWC will be renowned for the presence of tablets. Here are the major iPad killers:

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

HTC Flyer

HTC announced the Flyer tablet running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS at MWC 2011. It has 7-inch touchscreen display and 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It offers HTC Sense UI, 5MP rear facing canera, 1.3 MP front facing camera etc. Read the review of HTC Flyer tablet.

Dell Streak 10

Dell also joined the big screen party with the announcement of Dell Streak 10 tablet. This new tablet, running on Honeycomb and Windows 7 OS, is the succeccor of Dell Streak 5 and Dell 7. Read more on Dell Streak 10.

ViewSonic ViewPad 10 Pro

ViewSonic's new tablet ViewPad 10 Pro is suitable for both personal and business use. This tablet can run on either Windows 7 Professional or Android 2.2 Froyo OS. Toshiba 10 tablet

Toshiba's tablet, which is not yet named, has a 10-inch screen and runs on Android Honeycomb OS. It also offers NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G HSPA etc. This tablet will be availbale by Apr 2011 in international market. Read review of Toshiba 10-inch tablet.

Acer Iconia Tab A100

Acer announced two tablets, Acer Iconia Tab A100 and Acer Iconia Tab A500 at the MWC. The Iconia Tab A100 tablet has a seven-inch full touchscreen, dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and Nvidia GeForce GPU with Adobe Flash support. HP TouchPad

New HP TouchPad has 9.7-inch XGA capacitive display and will run on webOS 3.0 powered with dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 processor. It also provides 1.3 MP front camera, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Beats Audio sound technology and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR with A2DP. Read more on HP TouchPad.

Motorola Xoom

This tablet is the real hero. It bagged the Best Gadget Award at CES and is expected to hit market bu Feb 24. It has a 10.1-inch dispaly with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and runs on Honeycomb OS.
