Hero Group: More heads roll in Citibank scam
But, the involvement of the Hero Group has come under the scanner this time around. Two more employees within the Hero Group have been identified as colluding with the Hero Group CFO Sanjay Gupta in channelising the funds.
A statement by the Hero Corporate Service reads, "Following an initial internal enquiry, two employees - Ganpat Singh and Gaurav Jain - working in the accounts department have also been identified to have been in possible collusion with Sanjay Gupta and Citibank employees."
The two employees have been sent on leave with immediate effect, the company added. Gupta was earlier arrested on Jan 3 for charges of criminal conspiracy. According to reports from police, Gupta had allegedly invested Rs 250 crore from Hero Group and its various subsidiaries. He had also formed two finance companies namely BG Finance and G2S for this purpose.
The Gurgaon police investigating the case said that appropriate action will be taken after the enquiry is completed.
