Jaipur, Dec 28: The Gujjar rage refuses to die down and leaders intends to take the agitation to new heights. Inspite of Rajasthan govt meeting up on how best to resolve the impasse, the agitation is spreading across the state. The Rajasthan government is searching for a solution to end the Gujjar impasse.

Yesterday, Dec 27 saw Ajmer shutting down as a bandh was called as the Gujjars protested demanding 5% reservation for govt jobs. After repeated threats and arm-twisting, the Gujjars now intends to take the agitation to Delhi. This comes at a time when the Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla announced a deadline of seven days for the administration to come up with a “permanent solution".

"The government is serious about ensuring the Gujjars gets 5 pct reservation, but for that we have to get data. So, selection of an agency to compile the data in time is important," said energy and higher education minister Jitender Singh, after the the talks with Gujjar leaders yielded no results.

The Gujjar community heads will go ahead with their protests and move to the capital on Dec 29 for protests. The government is on the search for an agency that can collect quantifiable data to justify the 5 pct quota for the community.
