Parl deadlock likely to spill on Budget Session

New Delhi, Dec 27: The Parliament deadlock during the Winter session is likely to spill on the Budget session. Opposition leaders have pledged that they would not allow Parliament to function during Budget session if JPC is not appointed in 2G probe.

PM Manmohan Singh, previously said that he is ready to appear before Parliament Accounts Committee (PAC), which is investigating into 2G scam.

Singh wrote a letter to PAC head, BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi on Monday, Dec 27. The Letter stated that as head of PAC, he (Joshi) needs to get permission from Lok Sabha Speaker Meria Kumar, before getting the PM in-front of the panel.

The Opposition leaders like, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj said that PM cannot choose the panel to address biggest scam. Opposition have said that they wont allow parliament business to function during the Budget session, if JPC is not framed.

The Strong stand from Opposition and govt in constituting the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), into 2G scam, deadlocked Parliament functions during Winter Session in 2010. Hardly Parliament worked for less than ten hours in the Winter Session.

The CAG report in 2G spectrum allocation that nailed Former Telcom Minister A Raja and led to his resignation. The 2G scam said to be the biggest scam ever in India. According to CAG report the scam imposed,1.76 lakh crore revenue loss, to the country.
