Madhya Pradesh CM's wife takes loan to buy onions
Sadhna Singh, wife of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has filed an application for a bank loan. No news there? Then read on. She apparently wants a bank loan to buy onions. A direct jab at the skyrocketing food inflation, she also wants to get the message across loud and clear to the ruling UPA govt.
Sadhna is also the vice-president of the women's cell of the Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She recently staged a street protest on the plummeting onion prices. During the protest, she filled up the bank loan application to buy the vegetable that is priced at Rs.60-70 a kg.
The protests were held at Bhopal's State Bank of India, T.T. Nagar branch.
On how the price rise has affected her, Sadhna commented, "Even my home budget has got disturbed as prices of every vegetable has gone up."
