Google gives 30pc wage, 250pc bonus hike to execs

California, Nov 14: The global leader in technology, Google has sanctioned the salary raise for its top executives. According to new sanction, top executives will get a pay hike of 30 percent and bonuses of 250 percent of the base salary.

Google's top executives, Patrick Pichette, Chief Financial Officer, Global Business Head Nikesh Arora, Engineering-and-Research Chief Alan Eustace and product chief Jonathan Rosenberg, will get increase in pay $500,000 to $650,000, effective from Jan 1, 2011.

Google said that the increase in salary was sanctioned after a review of performance and competitive market data, and as part of a broad-based review of the company's compensation programs.

However, the base salaries of Chief Executive Eric Schmidt and co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin would remain at $1 as this three executives do not participate in the executive bonus plan since 2004.

Earlier in this week, media reported that Google was planning to give a salary hike of 10 percent to all 23,000 employees of the company around the world.
