Oz cops caught joking about Indian getting fried
According to a newspaper report, as many as 15 police personnel, including many highest-ranked officers, are set to face disciplinary action for circulating and joking about a racist and offensive e-mail through the police computer system.
According to the Herald Sun, the police officers circulated a video, which shows an Indian passenger on the roof of a train getting electrocuted as he touches the high-tension wires.
Besides having racist material, the e-mails were also pornographic, homophobic, and violent in nature, said the report.
Chief Commissioner Simon Overland has described the e-mail, being probed by by the Ethical Standards Department"s Operation Barrot, as "disturbing, offensive and gross".
Three superintendents and several inspectors were nabbed during an investigation.
