New Delhi, Oct 3: The Delhi Commonwealth Games 2010 will be inaugurated jointly by Indian President Pratibha Patil and Prince Charles at 7.00 pm on Sunday, Oct 3.

India, the biggest democratic nation in the world, will show case its rich culture and tradition during the opening ceremony. More than 8,000 performers from different fields will demonstrate India's 5000-year-old culture. The opening extravaganza will be an amazing experience for the world.

The complaints of corruption, lack of security, bad condition of the Games village, pull out of stars etc have turned to mere bad dreams. Indians have united to show their ability to the rest of the world. The opening ceremony is divided into six sections: Rhythm of India, Swagatam, Tree of Knowledge, Yoga, Great Indian Journey and AR Rahman's rendition of the CWG anthem "Jiyo Utho Badho Jeeto".

Different performers from 28 states will demonstrate their talents. All these performers will enter to the centre of the stadium through specially created tunnel. Bollywood stars will dance for AR Rahman's tunes. The list of the stars is still a mystery and it is expected that Sharukh Khan will lead the dance show.

Another thrilling attraction during the opening ceremony is the extra-big Helium-filled balloon at the centre of the Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium. This balloon has 80 m length and 40 m width and cost more than Rs 40 crore. The opening ceremony will be reflected on this balloon and viewers can enjoy the functions on it from any corner of the stadium.
