D Ramanaidu to receive Phalke award 2009


Dadsaheb Phalke Award
New Delhi, Sep 9: The prestigious award, Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2009 will be given to the veteran film producer, D Ramanaidu by the government of India.

The award is given on the basis of recommendations of a Committee of eminent persons. The award will be given at the National Films Awards Function scheduled to be held in Oct 2010.

Ramanaidu, who has acquired a golden place at Guinness Book, started his career in the film world in 1963 with his first film Anuragam, followed by the super hit film Ramudu-Bheemudu starring NTR in 1964.

He is well-known not only for Telegu films but he tried his genius by producing several super hit movies in Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi and Bhojpuri.
