Safdarjung doctors' strike continues in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 8: Following doctors' strike on Tuesday, Sep 7 at the Safdarjung hospital in Delhi, the home ministry announced on Wednesday, Sep 8 that it may invoke the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) against doctors.

A gynaecologist was beaten up by a patient's relatives which led to indefinite strike demanding better security. As per reports, doctors are still on strike in the capital.

However, health Minister of State Dinesh Trivedi asked the striking doctors to resume work as that would be in their interest.
