Cartoons to teach English for Chinese children
Beijing, Aug 4: Walt Disney's English learning centres help the Chinese children to learn English through cartoons.
China Daily reported that a large number of children attend classes where they imitate American accent shown by characters such as the AristoCats, Mickey Mouse and Snow White.
Walt Disney's English language centre was first opened in 2008 which admits children between the age group of five and seven years. The touch-screen boards, props, games and online media are some of the facilities provided in the class room.
"When the words appear on the big screen, the teachers will say 'Go' and they will tell you what they want. When you reach for the correct object, the screen will say, You have won," said 5 year old Paul He.
Walt Disney has 14 English language centres in China and now they are planning to double the number in a year.
