Cargo plane crashes in Riyadh, pilots hospitalized
Riyadh, Jul 27: A cargo plane crashed and split into two halves at the international airport here on Tuesday, Jul 27.
According to the Saudi state television reports, the German-owned Lufthansa crashed at King Khaled International Airport in the Saudi capital.
While the kingdom's civil aviation authority said there were no casualties, Lufthansa said in a statement that the pilots of the Cargo Boeing MD-11 have been rushed to a hospital.
Lufthansa Cargo also said that the aircraft suffered a "hard landing" and "broke into two pieces".
A blaze has broken out at the accident site and fire fighting operations are on.
