New Delhi, Jul 24: The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) asked the government not to proceeded nuclear liability bill with in parliament.

Describing the details of the three-day central committee meeting, CPM general secretary Prakash Karat, on Friday, Jul 23 told that the nuclear liability bill will not protect the interests of the Indian people nor assure their lives and safety.

"This is a dangerous step, especially in the light of the Bhopal gas tragedy. The bill excluded foreign firms from reasonable liability in case of a mishap," said Karat.

The nuclear liability bill, which was scheduled to be introduced in Mar 2010, is now under the consideration of a standing committee of parliament.
