NATO resumes Russian connections
Moscow, Jul 22: NATO delegates will meet Russian military officers on Thursday, Jul 22 to discuss cooperation on the fight against sea piracy and the situation in Afghanistan.
Chairman of the NATO Military Committee administration, Giampaolo di Paola, will lead the team during their three day visit and he will meet Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General Nikolai Makarov, and other senior military officials.
Russian Defence Ministry reported that the meeting will help for the future interaction in various areas.
The discussions will focus on the fight against sea piracy, logistics, and the situation in Afghanistan.
In Aug 2008, NATO suspended ties with Russia following the armed conflict with Georgia.
