WB rail mishap: Trains back on track at Sainthia
Sainthia, Jul 20: The collision site of the Uttarbanga Express and Vananchal Express has been cleared off and the train services have been restored at the railway station here.
The three wrecked coaches of the Vananchal Express was removed from the tracks to make way for the trains.
While a goods train was run at around 3:00 pm on Monday, Jul 20 on the cleared tracks, the train services on the Khana-Rampurhat section of the Howrah division in Birbhum district were restored on Tuesday, Jul 20.
According to the Eastern Railway sources, train services on both the up and down lines through the Khana-Rampurhat section of the Howrah division were running normal.
The high speed collision at the Sainthia station in Birbhum district took place at around 2 am on Monday, Jul 19 killing as many as 63 people and injuring over 150.
