BSNL union threatens govt over 3G money refund
New Delhi, Jul 19: BSNL employees association asked the government to refund the 3G and broadband spectrum money.
Employees association also told that the employers will go for strike if the demand was not met.
On Monday, Jul 19 The Joint Action Committee (JAC), represented by three lakh executives and non-executives of BSNL, had met a convention. In the convention JAC demanded to refund of Rs 18,500 crore for 3G and broadband spectrum and exempt the Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) from paying license fee on fixed lines.
According to JAC, BSNL was not given the option to bid and choose circles of its choice like other private players. Rather, it was given spectrum for all the circles barring Delhi and Mumbai (where another PSU, MTNL, got the radio waves) and asked to match the winning bid.
JAC also explained that union will call a three-day sit-out strike from Tuesday, Sep 21 to register their protest in case the government fails to resolve the issues.
