HC adjourns Ruchika molestation case
Chandigarh, Jul 17: The hearing of Ruchika Girhotra molestation case had been adjourned by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday, Jul 16.
The hearing was going on a revision petition challenging the conviction of former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore.
Justice Jitendra Chauhan adjourned the matter till Monday, Jul 19 as Abha, Rathore's counsel wife had been putting her arguments for the past few days, came up for day-to-day hearing.
After being molested by Rathore for three years, Ruchika Girhotra had committed suicide on Aug 12, 1990.
After twenty years of budding tennis player Ruchika's death, the session court sentenced Rathore 18-month jail term for molesting her in 2010.
Rathore had been kept in the high security Burail jail since May 25, 2010.
A day after the session court announced its decision, Abha filed a revision petition in the High Court on Rathore's behalf for suspension of sentence and grant of bail to Rathore on May 26, 2010.
