After Nano plant, ADAG power plant in Gujarat
Gandhinagar, Jun 30: Gujarat is quickly emerging as a hot destination for industrial giants. After the Tata Nano's new manufacturing plant was inaugurated in Sanand, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) is reportedly considering setting up an 8,000 MW power plant in the state.
ADAG is likely to invest Rs 40,000 crore to set up the power plant in Gujarat, DNA reported. An announcement in this regard can be expected from Anil Ambani in Jan 2011 at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors" Summit (VGGIS), the newspaper added.
Quoting higly placed sources, DNA reported on Wednesday, Jun 30 that ADAG's Reliance Power had submitted a proposal on an 8,000 MW power plant near Bharuch or Dahej to the state government.
The proposal was recently submitted to the energy & petrochemical department as well as the industry & mines department of the state government, the sources informed the newspaper.
