Court grants Vora anticipatory bail in Viveka case
Mumbai, Jun 29: Mumbai court has granted Gautam Vora, Viveka Babajee's boyfriend, anticipatory bail in her suicide case on Tuesday, Jun 29.
Viveka Babajee, once India's top models and the face of Kamasutra campaign, found lifeless in the posh suburb of Bandra flat on Saturday, Jun 26.
Viveka hung herself from the ceiling fan in her flat. The police suspects she was depressed after a recent break-up with her boyfriend, Gautam Vora.
The police had got her diary; its last entry reads "I Kill". The diary is now being treated as a suicide note.
The police said that she had a fight with her boyfriend on Thursday, Jun 24, just two days before she committed suicide.
The police had submitted photos and videos of the spot where Viveka Babajee's body was found dead.
The police are examining Babajee's diary which they say could reveal whether she committed suicide of her own accord or was pushed to the edge, though police sources said she had tried to commit suicide at least once before.
Gautam Vora, a 32-year-old stockbroker, who had been equivocal since Viveka ended her life.
He stated earlier that he was scared since media reports made him believe he would be arrested in connection with Babajee"s suicide.
Vora, allegedly named by Viveka Babajee in her suicide note, submitted an anticipatory bail application (ABA) before the sessions court on Monday, Jun 28.
Vora finally acquired anticipatory bail from Mumbai court on Tuesday, Jun 29.
