Probe into K'taka BJP-Mining lobby nexus: Cong
New Delhi, Jun 26: Congress on Friday, Jun 25 sought a probe into the 'lexus' between the mining lobby and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Karnataka.
“We demand that there should be a probe into the nexus between mining lobby and the BJP leaders and the party at all levels," party spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told media personnel in the national capital.
Expressing 'shock and concern' over the resignation of Justice Santosh Hegde from the post of Karnataka Lokayukta, the party spokesperson communicated the party's request to the BJP government in Karnataka to immediately take steps to persuade Justice Hegde to reconsider his decision to quit.
“We are shocked that the Karnataka government in violation of all probity is penalising honest officers and protecting and reinstating corrupt officers thereby leading to rampant corruption in the state," Natarajan said, after observing that the Hegde was unwilling to continue in the post due to 'obstructive and uncooperative' attitude of the state government.
