Youth beaten to death for murdering shopkeeper
Lucknow, Jun 22: A young man who was trying to escape after murdering a shopkeeper, was beaten to death by a group of villagers in Uttar Pradesh, informed police on Tuesday, Jun 22.
The young man who was in his early 20s was killed on Monday, Jun 21 in Jandheri village of Muzaffarnagar district. The person is yet to be identified.
Ram Katheria, police inspector said that the man and his two helpers shot dead the shopkeeper. Villagers who heard the shots chased the assailants. While two escaped, the third was caught and beaten to death with rods and wooden sticks.
This is the fifth lynching done by the public in Uttar Pradesh, since Feb 2010. The other two incidents happened in Moradabad and one in Meerut and Lucknow each.
