RK Laxman's condition stable
Mumbai, Jun 22: The condition of RK Laxman, the eminent cartoonist who has been admitted in the hospital, is critical but stable. He is being treated for lung infection and kidney problem at a hospital in Mumbai.
The 86-year-old cartoonist was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Sunday, Jun 20 after suffering three mild strokes. He is reponding to medicines now and is stable but the doctors said that the next two days are crucial. He is also being treated for stroke, besides lung infection and kidney problem.
"There is slight improvement in his health but he is not in a position to talk," said Usha Srinivas, Laxman's daughter-in-law.
Laxman is being treated by a team of doctors headed by Dr Hemant Thacker.
Laxman suffered the first stroke on Thursday, Jun 17 and subsequently had two more strokes when he was admitted at Sahyadri hospital in Pune. He was brought to Breach Candy Hospital by an air ambulance on Sunday, Jun 20.
