Govt unlikely to bring Women's Bill in LS
New Delhi, Apr 18: The Women's Reservation Bill may not be introduced in the Lok Sabha this session in the wake of the various problems faced by the government.
"Are we short of problems that we add one more to it," said a senior Congress leader and Union Minister when asked whether the government was going ahead with the bill in the Lok Sabha in this session.
Stating that the government's main priority was to get the financial business passed, he ruled out plans of bringing the bill in the remaining part of this session.
The statement comes in contrast to the governments earlier stand that bill would be introduced in the Lok Sabha this session.
It has been said that the change in opinion could be due to the failure to arrive at consensus over the Bill at an all-party meeting held in Mar 2010.
