New Delhi, Apr 8: The Delhi High Court has issued notices to 15 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and HRD Ministry to clarify the selection process through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

The court issued the notice after a PIL filed was by lawyer Prashant Bhushan on behalf of Professor Rajeev Kumar of IIT Kharagpur.

Kumar said, "The IIT-JEE selection procedure is a fraud. I have been fighting against it for 4 years and finally the Delhi High Court has issued notice to the ministry, the IIT council and the Joint Admission Board that conducts the entrance."

"The entrance in its current format is not transparent. No one knows how they select the candidates," he said.

"Though Kolkata High Court dismissed my public interest litigation, I moved the Delhi High Court," said the computer science professor.

Every year, thousands of students appear for the JEE seeking admissions in the elite technology schools.

Over 4,00,000 students will appear in the IIT-JEE scheduled for Apr 11, 2010.
