Sun to allocate Disney channels in India
Mumbai, Mar 24: The Walt Disney Company India has signed a multi-year agreement with Sun Distribution Services (SDS) for its channel distribution.
This major development comes after the Walt Disney decided to move out of Star Den's distribution network.
SDS is a division of Kal Comm, part of Sun Network Group.
As per the agreement, SDS will distribute Disney Channel, Disney XD and Hungama TV, across multiple platforms including cable TV, Direct-to-Home (DTH) and IPTV.
The deal comes into effect from Apr 1, 2010. It will take Disney's television channels to over 70 million homes across the country.
Walt Disney Company India MD Mahesh Samat said, "We are delighted to partner with Sun Distribution Services, to further strengthen the reach and relevance of Disney in India."
