Chicago, Mar 20: The 26/11 terrorist David Coleman Headley has revealed that co-accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana knew details of the Mumbai carnage, contrary to the Rana's persistent denial of the same.

Headley on Thursday, Mar 18 pleaded guilty to all the terror charges slapped against him before a Chicago court to strike a deal with the US prosecutors.

According to the plea agreement between Headley and the US government, Headley travelled to Chicago and met with co-defendant Rana and spoke to him of his assignment in India in Jun 2006.

It was reportedly Headley who came up with the idea of opening an office for First World Immigration, a company run by Rana, as it would provide a cover story for his activities.

“Following defendant"s explanation, Rana agreed to open an immigration office in Mumbai, India, and provide assistance to defendant"s activities. At co-defendant Rana"s direction, an individual associated with First World prepared documents to support defendant"s cover story. Rana further advised defendant on how to obtain a visa for his travel to India," the plea agreement said.

Headley also kept meeting Rana to update him about his recce of potential terror targets such as the Taj Mahal hotel.

“Defendant also showed them the visa that he had obtained with Rana"s assistance," the agreement said.
