Nissan recalls 540,000 vehicles
Detroit, Mar 3: After Toyota's recall damaged the auto giant's image forever, another Japanese automaker Nissan has been forced to take the same step following reports of faulty brake pedals and fuel gauges.
Nissan Motor Co is recalling 540,000 pick up trucks, sports utility vehicles (SUV) and minivans to repair the faulty parts.
The largest fraction of the recalled vehicles are from United States while the remaining are from other countries across the globe. 179,000 vehicles recalled on brake pedal problems are from US, say reports.
Other countries which will be affected by the recall are Canada, Russia, and countries in the Middle East.
The company has appealed its customers to contact their dealer if they find that the brake pedals are lose.
No injuries or accidents due to these faulty parts have been reported, Nissan added.
Earlier in Dec 2009, the company recalled over 3 lakh vehicles from Japan and other parts of Asia over same faulty parts.
