Kabul, Feb 27: The Indian Air Force (IAF) plane has been dispatched to Kabul to bring home the bodies of 6 Indians, including two army officers who have been killed in the blasts on Friday, Feb 26.

The slain army officers have been identified as Major Deepak Yadav of Army Education Corps and Major Dr Laishram Jyotin Singh of Army Medical Corps

According to the Indian Ambassador in Kabul, Indians seemed to be the prime target and the blasts looked like a replica of Mumbai terror attacks in 2008.

"Six Indians were killed in the Kabul attack. It looks like 26/11 Mumbai type attack. The attackers search each and every room and killed them," said Jayant Prakash, Indian Ambassador in Kabul said in media reports.

The list of other Indians who lost their lives in the attack on guesthouse known as Park Residence are as follow:

- Engineer Bhola Ram

- Tabla player Nawab Khan

- Staffer of Kandahar Consulate Nitish Chibber

- Indo Tibetan Border Police constable Roshan Lal

The Indian Embassy has rented the Park Residence for its staffers and those involved in developmental work in Afghanistan.

The team of medical officers, medicines, a team of Army officers and officials from the Ministry of External Affairs is on board the IAF plane.

Earlier, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attacks.

"Our mujahidi (holy warrior) fighters managed to attack in the heart of Kabul city once again," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a news agency report from an undisclosed location.
