No privatisation of the railways: Mamata Banerjee
New Delhi, Feb 24: Union Railway Minister, who invited the private players to join hands with the ministry to fuel expansion, made it clear that the railways will not be privatised.
"Railways will not to be privatised and will remain with the government," said Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday., Feb 24 while presenting her second railway budget for UPA government.

She wooed the country's business community in a bid to arm the railways revenues.
"Railways has to develop business models for improving earnings," added the minister.
Besides pointing out the need to formulate a new business model and bring in domestic investment through PPP (Public Private Partnership), Banerjee promised a 100 day clearance window for private investment.
