Thackeray asks details of Aussie players
Mumbai, Feb 8: Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar heaved a sigh of relief on Sunday, Feb 7 as he succeeded in winning the Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray's assurance of a tension-free IPL, if details of the Aussie players are provided to him .
Pawar, who visited Thackeray on Sunday, Feb 7 along with BCCI President Shashank Manohar had reportedly asked the Sena chief to withdraw its threats against the Australian players partcipation in IPL.
Amidst speculation of trying to warm to the Sena, Pawar, who is also the BCCI chief met Thackeray in the latter's 'Matoshree' residence.
Following which the BCCI president Shashank Manohar was quoted in a media report that the Sena chief had asked for the details of Australian players in IPL.
"We have tried to convince him that the entire Australian team is not coming. Mr Thackeray was considerate enough and he asked to us give us a detailed presentation. Thereafter he would consider our request," Manohar said in media reports
The BCCI will reportedly furnish the details in a couple of days.
