Can't decide alone on Nalini's release: Karuna
Chennai, Feb 3: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has said that the state government cannot decide alone on the Nalini's premature release, convicted in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Feb 3, Karunanidhi said, "This is a major issue that has to be discussed at the national level. Therefore, we cannot unilaterally take a decision on it."
He further said the state government has appointed an advisory board to consider her plea and its report "is on its way."
The Board was formed after a direction from the Madras High Court on Sep 24, 2008, while partly allowing a petition by Nalini to consider her request.
