New Delhi, Jan 6: In the wake of the raising number of attacks against Indians in Australia, and the recent shocker of a 21-year-old Indian student being stabbed to death in Melbourne, the Indian government has issued an advisory urging Indians in Australia and those planning to do so to take extra security precautions.

The External Affairs Ministry on Tuesday, Jan 5, issued a list of dos and don'ts. This includes suggestions such as don't travel alone at night, and to always carry some identification.

The ministry has also advised Indians to immediately get in touch with the authorities or to dial 000 to get police help, as soon as they sense danger.

This comes three days after the brutal murder of 21-year-old Nitin Garg came to light.

In yet another possible attack on an Indian, the Australian police on Tuesday, Jan 5 said that they suspect that the partially burnt body found on Dec 29 may be that of a 25-year-old Indian, who went missing on Dec 27.
