Washington, Dec 14: US president Barack Obama threatened to expand more strikes in Pakistan if it acquires actionable evidences against al-Qaeda and Taliban.

"If we"ve got actual war intelligence on high-ranking al-Qaeda leaders, or for those matter high-ranking Taliban leaders who are directing actions against US troops, then we will take action," Obama said.

Obama said that US would respect the sovereignty of Paksitan and expects full cooperation from the nation.

Calling terrorism and not India as the greatest threat to Pakistan, Obama advised Pakistan to concentrate on deploying more troops in the western frontier instead of competing with India.

"We have discussed with Pakistan that their traditional orientation, which has been to compete with India, has now been overtaken by extremists within their own midst that are exploding bombs with impunity throughout Pakistan," he said.
