Noted journalist nominated to RS; Kakodkar nominee
New Delhi, Nov 18: H K Dua, noted journalists and editor-in-chief of the Tribune has been nominated as one of the Rajya Sabha members by the government.
Besides being the editor of prominent newspapers like Hindustan Times, The Indian Express and The Times of India, Dua has also been confered with Padma Bhushan.
He had also served as the media adviser to former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda.
Padma Vibhushan awardee A K ganguly has alos been nominated to the Rajya Sabha. Ganguly was the former Chairman of Hindustan Lever Limited.
It has been reported that the duo's name have been sent on Nov 17 to President Pratibha Patil for approval.
The name of Bangalorean CNR Rao also figures in the list of nominees who will be selected for the twelve Rajya Sabha seats. At present Rao is serving as the chairman of the scientific advisory council to the Prime Minister.
Former ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair and nuclear scientist Anil Kakodkar have also been reported to be among the list of nominees.
