Azmi fears MNS-Sena attacks; seeks Z security
Mumbai, Nov 16: After refusing to be cowed down by the hooliganism of MNS, Abu Azmi, the Samajwadi Party MLA attacked by the MNS MLAs in the State Assembly for taking oath in Hindi, has asked for Z security fearing assault from the MNS and Shiv Sena.
"The party delegation met Home Minister R R Patil and demanded 'Z' security for my protection, as I still face threat from MNS and Sena activists," said Azmi.
The letter which was submitted to the home minister sought Z security for Azmi at the backdrop of the MNS attack.
Azmi had also stirred up the Sena's wrath when he said that Bal Thackeray had lost his mind, after he had written an article in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece 'Saamna' in which Thackeray said that Azmi had done all this gimmick for publicity .
His comment resulted in Sena members gheraoing his house.
Azmi was beaten up MNS MLAs for taking oath in Hindi despite a warning issued by MNS chief Raj Thackeray to take oath only in Marathi.
