6 pilots grounded after plane-skid in Mumbai
New Delhi, Nov 12: Six pilots of Kingfisher Airlines, Air India and Go Air has been derostered on Wednesday, Nov 11 by aviation regulator for violating norms and landing on a short runway under rainy conditions at the Mumbai airport .
The action was taken after the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued a show cause notice to the three operators on Wednesday, Nov 11 for violating guidelines of the Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL).
"Three airlines on November 10 operated flights during wet runway conditions at Mumbai airport. We have issued show-cause notices to these three operators for alleged violations of directions regarding wet runway operations," DGCA said.
The Kingfisher airline skidded when it tried to land on the wet runway. Though passengers were safe, the airline was badly damaged.
