New Delhi, Nov 10: The India Gender Gap Review, 2009 released in Indian Economic Forum showed India ranking behind Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

World Economic Forum ranking showed India at 114 among 134 countries, which clearly indicates the wide gap in the man-women equality in the nation which ranks second in terms of economic development.

The Geneva-based international organisation also has some embarrasing revelations which said that India by ranking 131st has the worst sex ratios at birth in the world in this category.

"We find that there are still persistent gaps in health and survival, a fact that contributes to India's 'missing' women," the organisation said.

It also said that there is wide inequality between health facilties extended to male and females in the country.

The revelation led to stern advise from PEPSICO chairperson and CEO, Indra Nooyi who said that the nation cannot progress until women are treated well.
