Train mishap kills five in Haryana
Pataudi (Haryana), Nov 3: New Delhi-Ajmer Shatabdi train mishap killed five people at Pataudi in Haryana on Tuesday, Nov 3, resulting into a protest by the local residents.
The mishap took place at 7:30 a.m, when the five people were crossing the tracks as soon as a goods train passed the area.
They did not notice the approaching Shatabdi train.
"Due to the impact, the engine of the train failed and the locomotive came to a halt," said Northern Railways CPRO, Anant Swaroop.
Soon after the incident, the locals protesting against the incident surrounded the train, said the CPRO, adding that there were no reports of violence.
The identity of the victims is yet to be ascertained. An engine has been sent from Delhi to facilitate the onward movement of the rain.
