Aamir, Hazare backs Bedi as the new CIC
New Delhi, Nov 2: Kiran Bedi, India's first women IPS officer is the hot favorite for the post of new CIC (Chief Information Officer). Actor Aamir Khan and Social activist Anna Hazare has join the list of supporters who have appealed to the Prime Minister to make Kiran Bedi, the new CIC.
Stating that Bedi would bring honor and justice as CIC, Aamir said," We need a person who has demonstrated sensitivity, commitment and passion for public service. Bedi qualifies all these fronts."
Bedi is also supported by Magsaysay awardee, Arvind Kejriwala who calls her as a person who can deliver irrespective of the place and the position she is in, with an excellent track record.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, BJP leader LK Advani and Law minister Veerappa Moily will select the new CIC this week.
The position was left vacant after the resignation of Wajahat Habibullah who went on to become the head of J&K State Information Commission.
Competing with Bedi for the post of CIC are Central Information Commissioners AN Tiwari and MM Ansari.
Kiran Bedi is currently hosting a show Aap KI Kacheri on Star Plus.
