Molestation, assault case against Air India pilots
New Delhi, Oct 3: Just days after the big pilots-strike crippled Air India operations, more turbulence has been reported from the airline.
While the airline authorities were forced to de-roster two pilots and two crew members of IC 884, a Sharjah-Lucknow-Delhi flight over a mid-air scuffle; an air-hostess has also filed a complaint with Delhi Police alleging that two pilots- Commander Ranbeer Arora and Capt Aditya Chopra tried to molest her.
"The incident of scuffle between the two pilots and cabin crew members of IC 884 (Sharjah-Lucknow-Delhi flight) was reported on Saturday morning," an Air India spokesperson said on Sunday, Oct 4.
The management has ordered an enquiry into the incident and further action will be taken based on the report, the spokesperson added.
Speaking about the molestation complaint, Joint Commissioner of Police (operations) Satyendera Garg said, "The air hostess sustained bruises and injuries on her hand."
Apart from this, medical examination has confirmed that she was assaulted.
The flight was flying over Pakistan when the fight started at around 4:30 am on Saturday, Oct 3. Co-pilot and a flight purser, Amit Khanna, were reportedly injured in the fight on board the Airbus A-320 was carrying 106 passengers.
