Peshawar, Sep 26: Two car bombs killed 12 and wounded several others in separate attacks in northwest Pakistan.

Police official Shaukat Khan said that car bomb detonated outside a bank affiliated with the army killed at least six people and wounded more.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the suicide blast hitting a police station in Bannu district earlier on Saturday, Sep 26. It killed at least 6 and injured 70 people.

The strike seemed to followed the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan's announcement that it was ready to stage more suicide attacks in the region after an army offensive ousted them from Swat valley.

Qari Hussain Mehsud, known for training Taliban suicide bombers warned of more attacks in an interview at a secret location in North Waziristan on Thursday, Sep 24.

"We have enough suicide bombers and they are asking me to let them sacrifice their lives in the name of Islam, but we will send suicide bombers only if the government acts against us," he said.
