Bangalore, Sep 25: Encouraged by the landmark discovery achieved Chandrayaan I, Indian Speace Reaserch Organisation (ISRO) is rethinking its sequel mission scheduled to be launched in 2013.

"Following findings of Chandrayaan I, it would have to now look at midcourse correction of its objectives. We have to fine tune it. There is some loud thinking on the issue going on," ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair said.

On Chandrayaan II, ISRO plans to send two rovers on the lunar surface. ISRO scientists are also exploring possibilities of equipping the lunar rover with some instruments that could dig the moon surface and carry out in-situ experiments.

Nair also said that they were seeing if the now 'full' Chandrayaan II could accommodate some additional payloads.

Almost all experiments on Chandrayaan-II will be by Indian scientists while the lunar rover which will land on the moon will be sourced from Russia.
