Prosecute Ansals for tampering proof: Delhi HC
New Delhi, Sep 3: The Delhi High Court on Thursday, Sep 3, allowed criminal prosecution of Ansal brothers for allegedly tempering with evidence in Uphaar fire tragedy case that took place on June 13, 1997.
Justice S Murlidhar dismissed the plea of Gopal and Sushil and also imposed a cost of Rs 25,000 on them.
On Jan 31, 2003, Additional Sessions Judge Mamta Sehgal had ordered an inquiry after some documents related Uphaar case went missing from court record room.
After the inquiry, one court staff was dismissed by the district judge for tampering with the court records on Jun 25, 2004.
